Q – Why did you choose boxing over other sports?
A – I love the work that goes into boxing because it is a lot like the highs and lows of life; you only get what you put into it. The discipline builds character. I also love the fact that in boxing, everything is on the fly and in the moment every move you make in the ring is all on you; no one to blame but you. I think by far boxing is the greatest individual sport and it gets you in the best shape. You can burn up to 1500 calories per workout. Boxing has so many benefits, which is why I love this sport.
Q – How did you start in the sport and what kept you coming back to the gym?
A – My father is from Louisville Kentucky and grew up with Muhammad Ali. One of my aunts dated Ali and my first cousin married Ali’s trainer, Drew Budini. So I guess Muhammad Ali is responsible for me getting into boxing. He is my idol. A friend of mine who used to box took me to the boxing gym with him and I loved the workout and what I was learning. I never stopped boxing after that day.
A – I have been involved with boxing for 19 years I have been coaching at least 10 of the 19. I have worked with amateur and professional boxers, and have been involved in private fitness training and personalized fitness training for the past seven years. I specialize in boxing, fitness training, nutrition for weight loss, and cross training which shocks the body to give consistent results.
Q – What is your boxing style?
A – My style is about being very elusive and capitalizing off your opponent’s mistakes and having control. Sometimes you need to force the action and other times you let the action come to you. I can train you to be ready for any situation or fighting style.
Q – What have you done to make this gym standout or be different than others?
A – My passion and dedication to reaching all of my client’s fitness goals is what makes my gym stand out. You will feel that when you walk in the door, the energy is contagious. Free Spirit is a private facility that takes pride in our service and reputation. Free Spirit is a multitask facility, where we not only do boxing, but we also do fitness training. Our program is a cross training method that comes with a diet. I don’t know where else you can find a coach that has 19 years in boxing experience and worked with 2 boxing Hall of fame coaches that also has 8 years experience in fitness training.
Q – What types of classes and training do you offer?
A – I offer Memberships, group classes and private lessons. We only off boxing as fitness training no martial arts or kick boxing.
Q – Anything else we should know about Free Spirit Boxing & Fitness?
