There is no question that landscaping plays a big role in the curb appeal of your home. Many homeowners in Southern California struggle to keep their yards and landscaping in top shape when water is scarce. Even though we are experiencing the worst drought in history, you can still have a beautifully landscaped yard!
You can now sign up for one of the Metropolitan Water District sponsored classes: California Friendly Landscape Training. Well qualified trainers lead you through 6 interactive courses that will help you create a California Friendly Garden using Watershed Wise techniques. During these courses you will cover how to properly manage your irrigation systems, how to determine the right plants for specific areas in your yard, evaluating and designing your landscape, the watershed approach, and much more!
One of my Faircrest Heights neighbors has recently completed the LADWP workshop for residential landscape and signed up for program called “Lawn be Gone”, which is a Watershed Wise Hands-on Workshop. During this 3 hour workshop, a professional trainer will teach participants how to properly remove turf, grade for rainwater capture, and install a rain barrel. This FREE workshop will take place at my neighbor’s home Saturday October 25th from 9-12. If you are interested in attending click here to register for this FREE event.
